The loss of material possessions is inconsequential next to the accompanying
fear and guilt (for those that feel they could have prevented the fire). In
addition, there is the great loss of the time spent during the restoration
process or worse, the rebuilding process, and the need to replace personal
property. Basically the family's lives are put on hold for 6 months to a year
and sometimes more.
Few can't comprehend the scenario of losing literally EVERYTHING.
