That is perfectly true, IF YOU ARE USING THE BALL BEARINGS.
If, however, you are converting to tapered roller bearings, it is a
different story. You are all welcome to your own opinions, and no
offense intended here, either, but the engineers that designed the
bearings think that the spacer is ridiculous. Let me guess, you are
also one of the proponents of the "long bolt method"?
