I don't know what kind of backfires Joe C produces with his rebuilt
carbs but the solder on my HIF 6 isn't going anywhere.  I'd like to
send some of my soldered plates to the lab and see what kind of
pressure it takes to blow them out.  I'll bet that kind of pressure
would blow out the gaskets even if the poppet valves were still in
place.
