Hello,
speaking of vacuum advance...........
the original metal tube that runs from the front carb to the
dizzy is gone from my engine. im using a piece of rubber hose
that is a tight fit at each end, BUT...... i did lay my hands
on one of the original tubes. i notice that is is much smaller
diameter than the rubber hose. .... now the question(s)... how
much difference in vacuum from having roughly twice the volume
of air in the tubing as the original? ... i'm thinking it would
just be a time lag? ... should the tubing be as short as
possible to avoid this? or can i route the hose
cosmetically?..... would i be better off using a section of the
original and rubber hose for the end connections? .. is the
difference (if there is any) strictly theoretical or applicable
in high performance applications only? that is, would it make a
SIGNIFICANT difference on the street on a relatively stock
engine?
TIA
