Solved -- I think. Thanks to all who insisted on the bad connection while I kept insisting on more complicated problems. The bolt holding the ground cable from the battery to the chassis was not quite tight. I removed the bolt to find erosion under the washer. Have cleaned and tightened everything remotely associated so only time (and more trips) will tell. Thanks all! Now back to the Midget speedometer cable problem ... chuck |
