Actually...
exactly my take on the single box RC40 vs
the Cherry Bomb, Jim Rogers.
Truth be told, I'll be going back to the Cherry Bomb when the single box RC40
finally crumbles in time, 'cause I'm only
doing local trips since retiring from the
cockpit. Otherwise, I'd give the double-box
RC 40 a go due to excessive volume of the
Cherry Bomb on longer highway runs. On
short runs....who cares....? :)
One thing I will say. The RC40 is very well
built. I've the mild steel rear box with the
chrome tip. Both are in excellent shape after approx 15K miles and 4 years with
some exposure to rain. Excellent quality
as the car is hardly driven in winter and
of course, they continue to wear from the
inside during hibernation. The chrome tip
is of 195o's quality....ya' know....the real good heavy stuff of "yesterday".
