Madison, WI USA AP
After many weeks of hot, sunny days without a hint of rain, a local man
decided to drive his Austin Healey Sprite which had been parked since
Christmas. "It was great driving in the evening with the top down, looking
at the shriveled corn." he stated, smiling, "and it got better as the full
moon was rising!" The area has been under a severe drought warning as the
rainfall is over 7 inches short of the average for this time of year.
"There aren't any mosquitos at all, either." he stated, though there was
June bug evidence across his grill, and the car's.
Fully expecting the dry spell to linger at least another week, as has been
forecast, the man decided to forgo carrying his convertible top.
Unexpectedly the area received 1 and a half inches of rain in a 2 hour
period today.
It washed the bugs off his grill, but not the smile.
