I have a 1500 Midget, but in principle, the result should be about the same.
By itself, a header won't do a whole lot. It's the header plus:
- lower restriction exhaust
- better carbeuration
that gets you the real benefit. On my 1500, I went to a Pacesetter header
plus the European dual SU set-up (a huge improvement over the single
Stromberg).
One caveat, though. Too little restriction in the exhaust will loose you low-
end torque. I ended up with a 1-3/4" system and got better top end and good
driveability.
