Put a sock in it!
A nice thick wooly sock to be exact.
Never drive anywhere with an open carb throat.
Bugs and birds aren't bad, stones and screws will make a mess.
When I was running stacks on SUs I found a foam packing piece that fit
perfectly over the front of the stack.
I also stuffed a foam wax applicator pad down them before I found the
packing pad.
