The coil on my '76 Midget (1500) is getting very hot - too hot to touch. It
is new as the previous one burned out. I am wondering if it is wired
incorrectly and if that is causing the heating. I have a Mallory dual point
distributor and new Mallory ceramic resistor. The new coil is also a
Mallory unit. I am getting ready to retrace the wiring and compare the
setup to the wiring diagram but I was wondering if I still need the resistor
with the new coil and distributor. I am more confident mechanically
electrically.
Thanks, Ben
