Chuck...
As an adult, I have discussions rather
than arguments...so...my point of view:
I agree with you (and Dean) in principle but, life has it's realities in
terms of the
working man with SO, and most especially with kids. And, I feel we are
all
old enough (experienced enough) to
know this and understand it, accordingly.
If American asked me to work in place
of another who couldn't make it and I
had to sacrifice Sprite Spree, I'd go to
Sprite Spree.
If my old boss at P.Lorillard asked me or
my old boss I flew for at Business Express
asked me, I'd sacrifice Sprite Spree.
Same with #3 SO as compared to #'s
1 & 2 SO in terms of her wants and/or
needs, considering the depth of my
feelings for #3 (though she'd probably
have wanted to go to Spree herself, quite frankly! She loved her '67
Spridget!:)
If a full-time agent required my presence
on a shoot, I'd be there. A part-time agent
who provided me little work?...I'd go to
Sprite Spree.
We all do not have the luxury of doing
whatever we personally would like to do
when we'd like to do it. There are other
important people and relationships in
our lives which obviously will or MUST
take precedence over what we would
rather personally do.
For some of us, there may also be financial considerations as well and
I don't mean necessarily spending it...
"making it" with respect to opportunity to
do so is part of what I do today and is based upon this factor. Even as
a single guy, it may not be in my best
interests (downline) to "blow it off"! :)
