i have used dialpad.com .. its more like using a ham radio, tho
it is free. some stuff gets lost over a modem but at least you
CAN call a regular phone. .. there is a price for FREE! i
recommend going to http://10-10phonerates.com/index.html and
finding the best "dial around" rates . .i NEVER call long
distance using either my listed "preferred carrier" or QWEST. i
ALWAY use a 10-10 number lately 10-10-811. $.05 a minute, day
or night, the bill on your local phone bill, no monthly
minimun, no sign up or other hidden costs. it is a 50 cent
minumum per call. others have lower per call, but higher per
minute rates. some charge more for in state than out of state,
etc, etc, etc. .. good luck
