I agree with RBH. Cancun is a great spot. The deals now are very enticing.
My wife and I were there for our 15th anniversary and loved it. You can
spend as much or as little as you want. Busses run the whole hotel zone for
(back then) 2.5 pesos. Taxis will rip you off if you don't negotiate a price
first but you can get reasonable rates from them too. Every kind of American
franchise restaurant and a ton of local places there.
Most of the hotels allow you to come and go as if you were staying there.
Swim in their pools and drink at their bars! There are some nude beaches at
the european hotels too...
All kinds of entertainment available as well. Weekday nights saw 3 Corona
beers for $1 USD. A fifth of Tequila was $2.50!
