Thanks for the info. I'm still confused as to the listing of a "front" and a
"rear" adapter for the same carb though, especially since they have
different part numbers. I guess my real question is how would you know which
one you need, since only one is required?

Good point! Never tried it without them, but it makes sense. Once
again we're faced with a possibility, just a possibility, that the folks
that designed these things, dare I say engineers, actually KNEW what they
were doing? Don't be fooled by simplicity. Engineers NEED to draw more
lines and stuff.... the designs don't necessarily need to be redrawn.
So, anyway Bill, best get the other side as well. Item # 17 is a
bunch cheaper.
