Water is not a universal solvent. Something like methanol or acetone would
meet that designation. Ice does however mix well in every label of scotch
that I have encountered.
And speaking of chemistry, I spent more than sufficient time this weekend
explaining to my father-in-law why it is a bad idea to smoke a cigar near
the Sprite exhaust when it was running extremely rich.
