I know I would be interested in "recipes" for tuning a spridget engine.
Vizard is great, he really tests out on the flow bench almost every part of
the engine and how one affects the other.. But does he ever give suggestions
on the entire engine? I would be interested in case histories... what have
some of you done and what are the results, and of course your suggestions or
ideas.
For example... I am interested in building a road engine. A bit more power
(shooting for 80hp? is that too much?) while still keeping within view of
reliability and of course budget. So... my initial thoughts were well, "just
mill the head to get some more compression (run on premium), go for a mild
Kent cam, some K&N air filters a new coil and igniter, new set of plugs and
call it a day while rebuilding the rest back to stock specs." That is one
way to go, experimentation.
But on the other hand, experience is pretty powerful. So I ask... "what has
worked well for you?"
Thanks... Toby
