So my nameless '66 Sprite and I attended yesterday's Keystone British
Motorcar Gathering. I had a great time, met Dr. Larry, saw Jason, and met a
bunch of other great folks (and potential future listers). Despite the 95
degree heat, this was a great event. The setting is very nice with decent
amounts of shade. I think the final car count was just shy of 150 with a
constant flow of spectators all day. The Midgets and Sprites (or is that
Sprites and Midgets) were parked and judged separately (don't ask me why).
There were 4 Sprites in attendance and I was parked between 2 Bugeyes. A
gorgeous white, 1275, 5 speed owned by John Fisher and a flared and fairly
modded yellow one. The other Sprite was a nice early square body. The
white Bugeye took 1st place and thanks to Larry's vote combined with my own,
it was enough to get me a 2nd place plaque:) which has me very happy and
proud. The Midget count was 5, maybe 6, the day is still a blur for me, and
1st place went to a very pretty red '69 with chrome wires and knock-offs.
If you're from the eastern PA area and haven't made it to this show yet, you
should put it on your calendar for future Junes, it's worth it. There were
even a few parts vendors in attendance and I picked up a set of MGB 1 3/4
SUs w/ manifold for $20. Well I'm starting to ramble but I wanted to give
some show commentary with hopes of meeting other listers at next years
event.
