Well, we had to cut the kingpin and outer fulcrum pin to remove these
pieces from the A-arms on the Sprite. The kingpin bottoms are shot(and cut
to remove them from the pins). After we removed the fulcrum pins, we could
see how bad the bushings are - very oblong. John Davies(local British car
mechanic) said this front end was never rebuilt.
So, now I have to find new kingpins and a-arms. I noticed that Apple
Hydraulics has the a-arms. Any comments?? Anyone else carry these?? I
also saw that some listers did, but don't anymore.
Also, Mini Mania has the swivel/kingpin set on sale for $400. This looks
to be a competition set. Any comments on this??
I'm hoping to get this ready for a tour in several weeks, but most of the
weekends are full. At least I have a few days off here.
