A friend of mine has found a source for some leather hides, if anyone is
interested. The leather has a 'pebble' finish, and is a good thickness for seat
upholstry, or even jackets. It is very supple, and appears to be 'drum dyed'.
It
comes in either a 'hunter green' (same color as the orginal bugeye green), or a
rich blue. I think the price was around $44/hide (~18+sq-ft). I believe these
are 'surplus hides' from a maunfacturer that has discontinued offering the
colors of items they used these hides for. I can find out more details if
anyone
is wants it.
