<<Most modern european cars have a rev limiter fitted so you put the pedal to
the metal and wait till the front end dives (limiter kicks in) and then
shift. The limiters are usually set at 6,800 or 7,000 or whatever. The
first time you do this (in a hire car) you think you have blown the engine

Oh man, I've done that a couple of times!!! My dad has a '91 Miata the BRG
one. This labor Day we installed a supercharger on the thing. The other
weekend I took my buddy for a spin. We were out flying around, and I hit the
fuel cut off....SCARY AS HELL!!!!!! I thought I had really messed something
up. Good thing it's there cuz when your goin that fast your not looking at
the tach, just the road.
