I have had ywin SUs, Single 1.75 SU, and Weber down and side drafts on
1275s.

it goes.
Weber 45 DCOE side draft. Best preformance!
Twin 1.25 SUs, Not bad, (stock)
Weber down draft, lets just it worked but not as well as the stock set
up.
Single 1.75 SU, Great milage, no power.
Weber side draft vs 1.75 SU here is what my comparision is like.
The rabbit vs the turtle!
I tried 2 different set ups on the 1.75 SUs, both were the same, no
needles made any significant difference, and both made the car preform
just like a turtle.
I now have 2 cars with Weber side drafts, one was set up 8 or 9 years
ago and is still running perfect. In fact the carb is on a different
engine with no mods to it.
I just set up the other car, it does take some initial fidgeting but
once it is set, it is set for good.
Dissadvantages of a side draft...poor milage.
Advantages of a side draft.......Rocket like acceleration.
These are my personal expierinces, your milage may vary.
