Jeff Zurschmeide, I bow to your expertise, though I of course wouldn't know about points bounce above 6500 rpm as I don't run that high (yet!). So, indexing is to set the plug gap into the _middle_ of the combustion chamber. That makes more sense than what I read (on another list) on the web.
