I have a mechanical-advance-only Lucas dizzy ('67 vintage) in my car and I 
have a Pertronix in it, went in easy enough, runs fine. As long as whatever 
advance mechanism you have is working you should be fine.

I wouldn't think that having a mech. adv. dizzy would make any
difference.  However, I'm not familiar with them and would probably be
safer referring you to some of the other, more informed, people on the
list.....
