I've been fighting the urge to comment on this thread, but,
AAARRGGHHH!!!!! I can't stand it anymore!!! This is not a flame, but
simply another person's opinion........
Must be the cop in me, but here goes - You have no business doing 20 to
25 m.p.h. over the speed limit. I don't care what lane you're driving
in.
Speaking of lanes, the slow (right-hand) lane is intended for traffic
going -slower- than the speed limit, so the people driving -at- the
speed limit can get by in the left lane. The left lane is not intended
as a freeway for those who want to break the posted speed limits.
Maybe it's the American traffic laws that have you confused, rather than
the American driving style. I know there are some stupid drivers out
there, but perhaps a reminder of what the laws are might prevent some
drivers from getting mad at those who are obeying the laws.
Admittedly, I agree with some of your complaints about drivers, but I
can't see anything wrong with people driving the speed limit - even if
(and especially if) it forces the speed demons to slow down a little.
