Listers:
I am reaching a critical stage in the rebuild of my Bugeye's bodyshell and need
some help. As we all know (!), the front frame members on all the spridgets are
not perfectly level; they "curve" upwards at the front. (I think the curve
starts just after the big square crossmember). Anyway, my front frame members
(or extensions, if you prefer), are pretty banged up and the DPO did the
classic error of assuming the "curve" was not original ie. he hammered them
until he got them straight level with the ground.
I need to know two things which all the manuals don't tell me. First, what
angle should the frame members be at? How far off the (level) floor should the
very end of the frame extensions be when the shell is lying flat (in inches)?
Second: assuming the frame extensions are set up properly, are the radiator
support brackets supposed to be at a 90 degree angle to the floor or at a 90
degree angle to the frame extensions (and therefore lying at a "backwards
angle").
Thanks in advance for any help!
Daniel
