Well, once it quit raining, I went out and installed the new 160 degree thermostat and the new sending unit. Took Molly for a drive. The oil light no longer flickers and it seems to have had a small effect on the oil pressure, to wit: when thoroughly warmed through, she pumps at 30 lbs at 900 RPMS. However, if I let her sit and idle so that the temp rises to above 175 degrees, she drops down to 25 lbs of pressure. I haven't adjusted the valve clearance yet, that's on tomorrow's list of chores.
