There is a company - I think called Parrish? - that doesn't put
those sorts of restrictions, and allows you to up the mileage with a phone
call. Check the british-car or triumphs mailing list archives.
One of my coworkers has insurance through these people for his TR6
with 10:1 compression, hot cam, PI, etc, which he uses to commute to work
often (or did, until he put a rod through the block - it's at the "trying
to start it again" phase of the rebuild now).
It's probably a bit more expensive than insurance from companies
that insure trailer/garage queens (however, it's still cheap).
