Jeff,
I have the (Haynes Published) midget/sprite 'Guide to Purchase and DIY
Restoration' which has a very good history of the development of the
non frogeye spridget body. It tells the story of the (crazy) orders
that Austin Healey and MG were given to design the front and rear of the
new body independently and not to talk to one another!
It also has a picture of the Healey designed front end on a round rear end
- which is probably what you're asking about. It's only a tiny picture
though - and it's a front 3/4 view so not much of the rear is visible.
