Halogen Headlights

Hi Listers

I just priced a set of Halogen headlights (replacing the sealed beams) for
my Mk2A.  I should have been warned by the Spare parts man on the phone who
said before he gave me the price "are you sitting down?"!

Looking at US and UK prices I may well get them from overseas, even if the
Aussie dollar is doing dismally at the moment.

Has anyone had any experience with buying and fitting Halogen headlights
and would like to offer advice on suppliers or value for money of making
this change?
