About installing snaps:
At the very least, use a die-and-anvil kit, like
the kind that comes with the "Dritz" brand snaps you
can buy at fabric stores. They also sell a plier-like
tool for installing snaps, but I got one and it
stinks.
The die and anvil (with a hammer) did a perfect job
for me.
As for the male snaps on the body: You should
probably
replace all of them, especially if they are cracked,
worn,
got paint on them, etc. Just order a whole bunch of
them.
