I removed the old tie rod ends and rubber covers from my steering rack. The nylon button put a wear groove on the rack. I suppose it was doing it's job quite well with the rubber bush. The poly bush would press it even more firmly against the rack. Maybe some tape would hold the nylon button firmly enough to use the solid aluminum mounts. If not, a bracket could be screwed to the aluminum base and tension on the nylon button would be adjustable. http://ljvaughan.homestead.com/Rack.html Larry |
