Heh, yes. before I owned a proper classic (I didn't count the 14-21yr old
minis I drove before) I didn't get what the fuss was about with originality
(I love tinkering with electronics and dreamed of doing a custom dash in the
mini) but now I feel like I'm driving a piece of history not just a posing
car and as the MkII is one of the rarer spits I almost don't feel like I've
got the authority to go changing it. Mind you I don't think it's concours
condition so I guess I shouldn't worry from that point of view. I think
I'll install it in place of that rubber hose for the time being as this will
also tell me whether the fuel pump gauze is letting any muck through, which
is one of the theories for the flat spot I'm still experiencing from time to
time.
