For reasons I do not understand, brake fluid will occasionally
crystalize. I don't know if it's certain brands, odd metallurgical
reactions, or what, but I have seen it happen before.

I have a 71 Mark IV and there is some crusty, kinda crystalized stuff
on
the outside of the clutch master cylinder. It looks as if the cylinder
had
sweat and then it dried.
