If I had a worn distributor, I think the Pertronix would be the most
cost-effective fix.
As for the higher maintenance of points: I put about 2500 miles/year
on my car, so my points could go a couple of years without attention.
In the meantime, I will probably fix 25 other things on the car, all of
which are much more expensive, time-consuming, and messy than
adjusting points :-)
