The horn stopped working about 2 or 3 months ago. I
had had problems in the past where the horn ring would
get rusty and give bad ground. I inspected all of the
connections and dabbed dialectric grease on all of the
connections but no go. Very aggrivating.
Then I got your unanimous advice.
I had pulled an electrical eye off of one of the loops
with a 1" piece of wire from one side of the knuckle
when I was tracing down the open in the circuit. After
cleaning the muck off of the other side of the union
and removing the upper bolt, I found the remnants of
another eye. What happened to the rest of the wire, or
the rest of that second eye is a mystery.
I made a short jumper with electrical eyes crimped on
and guess what: Horn works!
I've had this car for 7 years and never knew about
this. Duh. Sometimes I wonder how I manage to fix
anything on this car.
