I got a molded carpet set from TRF about a decade ago. The molding
is well-done, but the actual material is a sort of thin and cheap fuzzy
material that seems to be glued, instead of woven, to a tough molded non-porous
plastic
backing layer. The footwell pieces also have an extra backing
layer of dense gray closed-cell foam about 1/8" molded to the underside, and
a smaller black ribbed vinyl piece sewn on the topside, where your heels go.
(I also have a set of those Triumph-logo molded rubber mats for the footwells,
which keep a great deal of filth off the carpet.)
In practice, so little of the carpet is easily visible, that it looks just
fine. The only
possible exception is the part that goes over those cross-rails just in
front of the seats. My kids' feet have been scuffing that area recently.
No sign of fading since I installed it, BTW.
