Ah, the advantage of ancient tools. I have a very old 1/4 drive rachet that the 
1/4" male shaft slips out of. That leaves a perfect 1/4 " square hole to put 
over the adjuster. Works great.

also, If they are easily avalilable you might get a couple of extra retaining 
pins. Maybe I'm not gentle enough, but I seem to have bent my share of them.
