Alan,
There is some sort of clip - on UK cars at least it is on the lower rear
edge of the dashboard, just to the left of the steering column. However,
since my flasher unit has been replaced at some point in its history, it no
longer fits into the clip (the original unit is still sitting there!). The
clip has the advantage that the dashboard amplifies the clicking sound so
you can actually hear it - my indicators are inaudible over engine noise,
even at tick-over.
