  In the passenger footwell, up on the 'ledge'
under the battery box, next to the tranny tunnel you'll
find a hole in the floor the p.o. probably covered over
as well.  The orig drain tube came out of the bottom
of the battery box near the front corner nearest the engine
and ran through a tube down through the floor.

Personally, I've never seen 'battery' acid from today's
batteries as the problem as most are well sealed.
It's the standing water that rusts through the battery boxes.

I too...drive a BGT as my year round daily driver.
The length of the battery cable has never been a problem
as long as the cable gauge is matched to the length
for the current the starter needs.  IE: 4 awg or larger.
0 awg would be great but is hard to route (large and stiff)
