The glass is held in by a pinch grip in the bottom rail that holds the
glass to the channels. Originally there seems to be a gunk of sorts that
helped 'glue' it in place that you can usually just pry the glass up and
out of since it gets old and dried out. Replacement is done with either a
strip of adhesive meant for this at auto supply stores or similar adhesive
material such as butyl rope.
