Dave,
Another option is to have your master resleeved by a company like
Apple Hydraulics.
They basically bore out the cylinder and press in a "brass tube" that
is the same size but smoother/longer lived compared to the original.
From what I have seen, they are about half the cost of new on late
Spitfire masters. Don't know about early Spit prices.
