Go to a store that sells parts for wood burning stoves and fireplaces.  Ask for 
some insullating rope.  It is made out of braided fiberglass, I
think.  It is used for sealing the door on air tight fire boxes.  You can get 
it in various sizes.  Find one that you can thread over the fuel hoses. 
Stretching it makes it fit like those "Chinese handcuffs" and it will stay in 
place!
