It was 1969 and I was an 18 year old high school senior working at an
airport refueling and maintaining airplanes. The airplane mechanic had this
Mk2 Spitfire that was beautiful and was for sale. At that time, the car was
only 3 or 4 years old, and he made me a good deal. I drove my Spitfire hard
for six months, till I had to sell it for money to pay for college. That
was a day I've always regretted. At Ohio University, I kept a photo of the
Spitfire on my wall for the next four years. Five years later I bought a
used MGB, but it didn't have the charm of my Spitfire.

Now some 30 years later I'm reliving my youth, big time. I have 3 Spitfires
and 3 GT6's. But my favorite is the one I sold 30 years ago.
