Recently I backed the 76 spit up a hill and parked it there while trying to rearrange the other lbcs to make room to work on it. It sat there for a week and I started it up and pulled it down the hill to the garage. Smoke coming from under the bonnet. carb leaking, and a big puddle of oil on the left frame rail. Looks like it is leaking from the bellhousing. Could I have parked it on too steep an incline and oil from the trans leaked into the bell housing? Is there a front seal on the trans? Do I need to pull the engine and trans? Thanks for any help. bill r 56&58 MGA 74 Midget 76 Spit 73 XJ6 63 XLCH HD 96 FLHTCU (mother's day present) /// spitfires@autox.team.net mailing list /// or try http://www.team.net/cgi-bin/majorcool /// Archives at http://www.team.net/archive |
