When I got my first classic 5 years ago, it was an MG BGT bought for #1900.
Two days later my then girlfriend (now wife) and I set off for a weeks
holiday in Dorset, 5 hours drive away - me a complete classics novice, and
not having done anything more to check her out than topping up the oil and
coolant.

In retrospect it was mad, but she got us there and back without missing a
beat.

When you say 'we', does that mean you, the dog and Decibel?  Or is another
human involved?  After carving a specially-shaped cushion (to clear the
transmission tunnel hump), my dog (a border collie) fits OK in the space
behind the seats, but I wouldn't want him to have to ride there for too
long...
