Hi All,
I was playing around with the spit fo the weekend and was wondering what
max ignition advance I should be aiming for.
I have a pair of Weber DCOE40 and hence no vacuum advance (or is it
retard). The car currently runs well at 12 degrees (800rpm) which gives
an max advance of 24-26 degrees at 3000rpm.
However the tuning books I have looked at recomend 30-36 degrees max
advance, which means 18-22 degrees at (800rpm), seems a lot.
The reason I think I need more advance is because my DCOEs are running
richer idle jets than they should and someone mentioned that this can be
a sign of too little advance, any comments?
Cheers
Tim
