First off, many thanks to all who responded to this
question. I called around and in terms of price, they
all seem to be in the $60-$70 range.

Bill Miller wanted to know:

I spoke to Ted this afternoon about his project.
Essentially, his tunnel is made of a material
similar to that used in the Rubbermaid "Roughneck"
products - a tough yet flexible plastic material.
If you've seen one of the "Roughneck" garbage cans
or storage containers at the store, you know what
it looks like - stronger and thicker than the
Rubbermaid kitchen products.

Apologies to our friends across the pond - don't
know if these are available across the ocean.

Anyway, his price is $65-$70 depending on the
make and model of your auto. Time 'till ship is
2-3 days, as he has to get it from his supplier.
I ordered one and will report when it gets here.

In other news, I haven't been able to find
any soundproofing locally but before I order
some, I thought I would poll the knowledge of
the assembled readership about the idea of
using sheets of closed-cell foam for soundproof
material. I can buy this quite cheaply from
a local supplier who makes it for insulation
on HVAC ducting. It seems like it would be
similar to the foam that comes with most carpet
sets as soundproofing. Any ideas on that?
