I just want to double check the info I have gleaned from various parts
suppliers websites - a Stanpart #308086 exhaust manifold should work
perfectly fine on a 69 1296 motor mounted in a 77 chassis? Spitbits lists
this manifold part number for both a MKIII and non-catalized MKIV and 1500
models. It is also what I have in my hot little hand at the moment (thanks
Bill). I can't compare to what is on my car as my car came with 4-1 headers
when I bought it.

Next question - front exhaust pipe. I assume that the one listed for a
71-74 MKIV is the way to go? Essentially that is what I have - a 1296
engined square-tailed Spit. Sounds like a game bird!

Lastly, anyone have experience of the stainless steel exhausts that Moss
sells? I can get one from Jeff Zorn for ~$200. Do they fit? Do they last? I
don't think I want to deal with getting my current (unfortunately new)
exhaust changed from fitting a header to fitting a downpipe. Easier to just
replace it.

Oh the fun of buying a bitsa!
