OK. I have not had a chance to check the placement of the bleeder on the
slave - the DPO (dumb present owner) may have installed it incorrectly
last year when he rebuilt it. The master cylinder is a new Girling unit,
the throwout bearing, pin and bushing are new and the pedal travel has
been checked. I am putting my money on the bleeder/line misplacement. I
will not have time to check tomorrow, but will update you on Thursday.
BTW, you guys are absolutely amazing when it comes to diagnosis. Everyone
who replied sounded like they were standing beside me looking at my car,
only with a whole lot more knowledge and skill!
