You guys should try putting a Honda S-2000 engine in a Spit and see
what kind of grief you get!!!!

I can imagine. I FINALLY got an engine and transmission back in my
GT6, almost. Since I added a J-type OD to my box the transmission
mount doesn't line up with the D-type OD mounting bracket. It is about
1 1/2" or so too long. I know the J type adds an inch to the length of
package over the D type, but I don't know where the rest of the length
is coming from.
I noticed that the recess in the bottom of the oil pan to clear the
rack is about 3/4" behind the rack tube itself. Did the engineers
miss?
My OD solenoid sure would like the extra room if I could move the
engine forward some. But then I expect the thermostat housing starts
crashing into the underside of the bonnet...
